Victoria Beckham says that instead of trying her designs on fit models, she tries the clothes on herself because she thinks she best represents the everywoman body.

Rigggghhhhhht. Because every woman is a UK size 6 (which is a US 2) with a pilates body and Madonna arms. We ALL look just like Victoria Beckham.

“We always joke that we have this fabulously gorgeous 17-year-old model who is six-foot-whatever and then I say, ‘Okay, I’m going to put it on. I stand for the general public here,’” says Beckham.

However, she couldn’t “stand for the general public” when she was pregnant with Harper Seven.

“It’s how I work,” the designer tells Harper’s Bazaar, “I found it really difficult when I was pregnant and I couldn’t do that. It’s part of the process – I’ll stand here in my knickers and start draping fabric over myself. It was very hard when I didn’t have my body.”

This year, Beckham was named Designer Brand of the Year at the British Fashion Awards, which is like the British Oscars for the Fashion world, last November and says she literally broke down in tears.

“When they read my name, I was genuinely not expecting it. It was like my heart was going to jump out of my body,” says Beckham.

“I came offstage and said, ‘I cried three times, I didn’t thank the people I wanted to thank, I was really rubbish,’” she says.
