Add another notch to Victoria Beckham’s already impressive resume. She now designs cars. So are we calling her a singer turned designer turned car engineer now? Perfect.
Victoria Beckham has teamed up with Land Rover to design a special edition Range Rover. This two-door four-seat coupe is being called the “Evoque” and is the brainchild efforts of Victoria and Land Rover Design Director Gerry McGovern.
The car is a sportier, sleeker, and more fashion forward design on the classic Range Rover body.
The brand released a short film highlighting the new car alongside Victoria Beckham. The commercial/film has Victoria doing what she does best (being posh) intercut with sleek images of the car in a futuristic narrative.
Land Rover appointed Victoria as the brand’s creative Design Executive in July 2010. Since 2010 they have been diligently working on creating the Evoque.
“I am very excited to be working with Land Rover as I have an enormous amount of respect for the brand. I’ve always driven a Range Rover, for me they are the epitome of quality and luxury,” says Beckham.
Land Rover Design Director Gerry McGovern says, “Working with Victoria, we quickly recognized our similar design tastes and ambition for this car. For example, at the first meeting, Victoria herself inspired the use of rose gold…We both agreed it was the ideal way to introduce a softer touch to the bold, assertive exterior color scheme.”
