Emily Blunt New Face Of YSL Opium Fragrance
Actress Emily Blunt will star as the new face and brand ambassador for the classic Yves Saint Laurent Opium fragrance.

Blunt, who is most famous for her role in “Devil Wears Prada” says she’s excited for the gig because scent and perfume is so important to her.

“I think really that’s what I love most about it – it evokes so much for people. Everyone always says they’ve smelled something, and remember this beautiful memory they experienced maybe many years ago. There’s something very powerful about it.”

But Emily isn’t just lending her face to the perfume ads. This isn’t one of those "look surprised, whisper, and clutch a bottle of the perfume" -type ads. Blunt says the behind the scene teaser trailer and all the ads and TV spots for the scent feature Blunt as a woman on the hunt for the Opium fragrance.
Christian Louboutin Suing YSL For Red Soles
Christian Louboutin takes his infamous red soles very seriously! He takes it so seriously that if anyone tries to steal the idea he will sue. And that’s exactly what he’s doing to Yves Saint Laurent.

Mr. Louboutin has filed a $1 million lawsuit against YSL for trademark infringement. What happened to imitation is the highest form of flattery? Guess it doesn’t apply when money is involved.

"Mr. Louboutin is the first designer to develop the idea of having red soles on women's shoes," the lawsuit said, Reuters reports.

"The defendants' use of red footwear outsoles that are virtually identical to the plaintiffs' Red Sole Mark is likely to cause and is causing confusion, mistake and deception among the relevant purchasing public."

Have I been living under a rock because I did not know that YSL made shoes with red soles! What kind of fashionista am I supposed to be?

Young Hollywood Turns Out for the Opera
Figaro! Figaro! Figaroooooo!

Over the weekend Young Hollywood descended on arguably one of the most fashionable places on the island of Manhattan. And we are not talking about Fifth Avenue! Kanye West, Claire Danes and everyone in between attended the 125th Anniversary of the Metropolitan Opera. We must say that when the curtain went up all of the stars looked flawless.

Claire Danes- Continuing her red carpet success streak, the actress looked stunning in a navy blue Yves Saint Laurent gown. With gorgeous detail on her bodice, and a two shoulder draping her look was perfection, as she kept her hair and make up simple.

Mary-Kate Olsen - The tween queen channeled her inner Courtney Love as she took to the black carpet in a simple black Yves Saint Laurent dress. We loved her outfit but her hair would have looked better on a poodle. Although we like the shade of her lips, paired with her ridiculous hair, what could have been a pretty look, looked... um shall we say messy.

Ginnifer Goodwin - The "Big Love" star embraced spring as she held the red carpet hostage in a lovely frilly YSL dress. The pattern of her dress was not too over bearing and she accessorized her flirty look with some heavy bracelets.

Diane Kruger- This is how you do it! Diane Kruger who always does it right, was simply gorgeous in her black-and-cobalt Yves Saint Laurent gown. Kruger never gives in to trends and always remains elegant and lady like! Her accessory for the evening? That would be her boyfriend Joshua Jackson.

Kanye West- The hip-hop star looked very dapper in a tuxedo as he attended the event with his "girlfriend" Amber Rose.

Well the curtain has gone down at the Opera and we are proud to say that everyone's look on the carpet was A-ok!

Naomi Campbell For YSL
Despite Naomi Campbell's erratic behavior, she still manages to get jobs. Her latest venture will be with Yves Saint Laurent, which will be a return for Naomi.

She will replace Kate Moss as the new face of the French designer that happened to have kicked off her career. Naomi has signed a $400,000 deal with the French designer and will front the company's autumn/winter 2008 campaign.

She says, "I'm blessed and grateful to be working with YSL again, a house that gave me a start in my career."

She's just lucky people are still willing to work with her!

Fashion god Yves Saint Laurent has passed away after a long illness. Laurent died in Paris, France at age 71.

Just as Chanel brought modernism into women’s fashion, you could say Yves Saint Laurent brought fashion up to a kind of contemporary life.”

“Most designers are incredibly lucky if they can contribute one thing to fashion,” Valerie Steele, director of The Museum at FIT (New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology) tells USA Today.

YSL has definitely upped their game in the shoe department lately. They started with the Tribute Mary Jane’s, which was seen on every celebrity in Hollywood. Now, they have the Tribute Platform Sandal for summertime. It's both open toe and open back, so a lot of breathing room for the hot summer nights.

Why is this shoe so hot? Well, because of the hot sexy high heel! The best part about it is that in comes in several colors such as red, tan, brown, and red. The latest addition is the Metallic Gold, which is super sexy but a bit more expensive.

Metallic Gold: $790.00

Red: $760.00

Nude Patent: $760.00
Eva Desperate For YSL

”Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria Parker has good taste, especially when it comes to shoes. As a recent event for PADRES Contra El Cancer, Eva was sporting one of the hottest shoes of the season, the “Tribute Canvas Leopard Pump”.

The shoe is designed by Yves Saint Laurent and will cost you $675. If you really want to drop that kind of serious money click here.

The shoe is a hit, but the price is a miss. What happened to designer shoes in the $300-$500 range? Since when do shoes cost up to a amount that can feed an entire family in a third world country for a month?

If you are wondering about her outfit, it was created by New York based designer Gustavo Cadile.
YSL Goes Back To The Future

Yves Saint Laurent launched its Fall 08 collection today and lets just say they are bringing sexy back with a modern twist. Women marching in black-bowl wigs, black lipstick, black narrow wrap around sunglasses and hot black waistbelts. I think were catching on that black is the new black for Fall.

Being shoe fanatics our favorite from the collection was the rendition of the new black pump. Let’s just say they are going higher and higher and there is no stopping YSL when it comes to their pumps.
